The user simply selects the first element that is desired for the toolpath contour, AutoPath will then find, join and even reverse the start and end points of the elements automatically to create an Order of Machining that goes from the selected start point to the end point of the contour. This feature allows the user to draw the elements for a sketch in any order, with the start and end points in any order, and AutoPath will arrange and re-arrange the elements for the correct toolpath.

9/25/03

  • Upgraded and enhanced the ZOOM feature in the SketchPad

  • Added KipwareDNC® to the standard package. KipwareDNC® allows for RS-232 communications to upload and download programs to / from a machine tool.

7/21/02

  • Added KipwareDXF® to the standard package. KipwareDXF® converts standard DXF files into Kipware® sketches for us in the SketchPad.
  • In addition, KipwareDXF® will search a standard DXF file for point locations and convert those locations into a standard CNC sub-program containing X and Y locations. This feature allows for the use of these sub programs in the KipwareM® conversational multi-operation hole machining menu. Although limited to 30 hole locations in the standard user-entered forms in this menu, this DXF conversion feature and the ability to use sub-programs for hole locations, allows for any number of holes to be machined with no limitations.

01/01/03

  • Added user settable SETTING to allow for auto-creation of programs in either FANUC or OKUMA OSP format.

04/07/02

  • Added new ROTATION feature that allows any KipwareM® program, in it's sub-program format, displayed in the KipwareM® Editor, to be rotated around a center of rotation, any number of times, at any angle(s). Example, taking a circle / helical mill program and rotate it around a bolt circle.

03/16/02

  • Added new EDITOR options for re-sequencing programs (adding N numbers) and for mass SEARCH and REPLACE. Also added was a SHOP KALCULATOR feature to perform common shop floor calculations within KipwareM® such as, RPM / SFM conversions, IN / MM conversions, FEEDRATE conversions and DRILL POINT calculations.

07/23/01

  • Program name changed from idevMILLING to Kipware® after trademark registration of the name Kipware®.
  • Added was the TRIG KALCULATOR program which calculates a variety of point plotting and trig problems for use in the Kipware® SketchPad.

03/18/01

  • Added was a CAD like SketchPad feature where the user can draw any toolpath desired using the simplified drawing menus of point, line and arc. After the Sketch is created, the user can use a conversational fill-in-the-blank form to create the G Code roughing or finishing program to machine per the toolpath drawn in the Sketch. Cutter compensation and depth of cut are created from the conversational inputs.
  • Added was a pop-up calculator available on every screen. Users can position the cursor in the field where they want the answer to go, open the calculator and when the SAVE/RETURN button is pressed, the answer is automatically placed in the desired field.

01/01/01

  • New conversational menus added including Helical Mill, Thread Mill and Rough and Finish Slotting.

03/20/00

  • Added was a Multi Operation feature. Users can describe up to four different canned cycle operations including tool and cycle data. Then, the user can input up to 30 hole locations and, using checkboxes, can choose which of the four or all four operations to perform at each hole locations. This allows for multiple operations such as spot, drill, c'sink and tap to be programmed only once and AlphaMill will create the program to include selected operations at each hole location.
  • Added was the ability to merge any file between Tool Numbers in the Main Program Creation module. Between each tool number icon, the user can click on a file- merge icon and input the path and filename to merge. When AlphaMill creates the main program, it will merge the selected files contents as selected. This feature gives AlphaMill better integration allowing for easier merging and inclusion of files written outside AlphaMill with the conversationally created programs created with AlphaMill. It also allows for easier program manipulation of AlphaMill created programs.
  • Multi-Shape programming feature has been slightly enhanced now allowing for the editing of code lines created conversationally.

12/28/99

  • Added was the ability to repeat pocketing or boss machining features in one program by simply completing a MULTIPLE LOCATION DATA ENTRY screen which provides the various X and Y center locations for each machined feature. The sub program created will contain the toolpath to machine all the features at each respective location.
  • Added was the ability to link more then one sub program file to a tool. Each tool can now be linked to up to 5 separate sub program files. Combined with the upgrade feature listed above, AlphaMill now gives more flexibility to each tool to machine more than one type of feature in more than one location.

12/12/99

  • Added as a standard feature was a Post Processor Editor. Although all AlphaMill G Codes are written as Fanuc Compatible code, the Post Processor feature allows the user to create custom program commands for the following :
    • Program Start-Up Blocks
    • 1st Tool Start-Up Blocks
    • Subsequent Tool Start-Up Blocks
    • Tool Sequence End Commands
    • Program End Blocks
  • The user can create as many Post Processor files as required and configure each area as described above without limitation. Block commands can be as large as required without restriction.
